Sometimes life can wear us down. Maybe you wake up and you realize you still feel tired, your mind is racing, you have a never ending list of to-dos, and everyone is counting on you - it feels hard to catch a breath… you look back and you're not sure how you got here. You are not alone. Let’s take a deep breath and examine what your body and emotions are telling you. When you slow down, and approach your emotions with curiosity, you'll be better able to give yourself the care you deserve. Your body and mind knows what needs to be healed and how to heal it - we just have to slow down and listen to it.
When I am not in my office, you will find me outside soaking up the sun - usually, I’m in my garden where I cultivate colorful flowers, aromatic herbs, and the freshest fruits and veggies. Calling my garden a peaceful retreat wouldn't be entirely accurate, as it's often filled with the playful commotion of my three pups, gleefully racing around or eagerly nudging me to play ball.
Fun fact, therapy is my second career… one day, I was sitting at my desk as an analyst for law enforcement and I realized I couldn’t recall the last time I had truly taken a moment to exist, to breathe, or to cherish time outdoors or with my loved ones. I knew I had to make a change - I couldn’t keep up this pace forever. Although I still struggle to find the perfect balance, I've found satisfaction in guiding my clients to slow down and rediscover the joy nestled within life's small moments.
