Every person deserves a therapeutic relationship built on compassion, authenticity, and collaboration, with care that honors their unique experiences and strengths. Whether navigating anxiety, trauma, relationship challenges, or life transitions, clients are supported in developing practical coping skills, increasing self-awareness, strengthening relationships, and building resilience. Therapy is tailored to each individual's unique needs by integrating evidence-based approaches that foster lasting growth and meaningful change. More than simply overcoming challenges, therapy is an opportunity to create a life that feels more connected, balanced, and aligned with what matters most.
Becoming a therapist was driven by a passion for helping people navigate the moments when life feels overwhelming, relationships feel complicated, or past experiences continue to impact the present. Creating a space where clients feel heard, valued, and empowered is at the core of this work. Walking alongside clients as they heal, build stronger connections, and discover their own resilience is what makes this profession so meaningful.
Heidi Richardson, LCMHCA, is a therapist providing counseling services to individuals and couples throughout North Carolina. Heidi is passionate about creating a safe, supportive, and authentic space where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered to make meaningful changes in their lives. She enjoys working with adults, adolescents, children, and couples, navigating anxiety, trauma, relationship challenges, emotional regulation difficulties, and major life transitions.
Heidi earned her Master’s degree in Professional Counseling from Liberty University and utilizes an integrative, client-centered approach to support each client's unique needs. Her therapeutic approach incorporates evidence-based practices including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and somatic approaches. Heidi has completed Level 1 Gottman Method Couples Therapy training and enjoys helping couples strengthen communication, rebuild connection, navigate conflict, and develop healthier relationship patterns.
Heidi believes therapy is a collaborative journey built on trust, compassion, and authenticity. She values helping clients better understand themselves, process past experiences, develop effective coping strategies, and recognize their own resilience. Outside of the therapy room, Heidi enjoys spending time with family, supporting youth athletics, spending time near the North Carolina coast, and finding moments of humor and connection in everyday life.
