Life Changes & Transitions
Outside of the therapy room, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, going for walks, traveling, and exploring new places. I love getting out and experiencing something new, but I’m just as happy with a slower day and nowhere I need to rush off to.
I’ve always been someone who genuinely enjoys connecting with people and hearing their stories. Over the years, I found myself drawn to work where I could really get to know people, understand what they were going through, and be there for the conversations that matter. Becoming a therapist felt like a natural extension of that. The connection I build with my clients continues to be one of the most meaningful parts of what I do.
Mary Wolinski, MS, LCMHCA is a therapist at Reclaim Counseling and Wellness’s Wake Forest location and provides virtual therapy throughout North Carolina. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Master of Science in School Counseling from Long Island University. She later completed additional graduate counseling coursework at Capella University as part of her clinical mental health training in North Carolina.
Mary brings experience from community mental health, five years as a school counselor in Wake County, and private practice. Working with people across different stages of life and in different settings has shaped her belief that therapy should be responsive to the individual rather than follow a one size fits all approach.
Mary works primarily with young adults and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, relationship concerns, self doubt, and times when they simply do not feel like themselves. Her approach is warm, collaborative, and individualized. She helps clients make sense of what they are experiencing now while also exploring the thoughts, patterns, experiences, and beliefs that may be influencing how they feel and how they see themselves.
Mary is trained in EMDR and integrates trauma informed and evidence based approaches based on each client’s needs. For some clients, therapy may involve working through experiences from the past that continue to affect them today. For others, the focus may be on managing what is happening right now, understanding patterns that keep showing up, or exploring beliefs about themselves that may no longer fit. Often, it is a combination of these.
Mary values a genuine therapeutic relationship where clients do not have to arrive with the right words or everything figured out. She meets clients where they are and believes there can be room in therapy for honesty, curiosity, difficult conversations, and laughter along the way.
