Tanya Jordan, LCMHCA

Adolescents, Young Adults, Couples & Families
Grief and Loss, Anxiety,  Stress Management,, Depression & Life Transitions

Tanya chose to become a clinical mental health counselor because she values the opportunity to connect with others and support them as they navigate life’s challenges and transitions. She believes that people are not meant to navigate life’s challenges alone and that meaningful connection can play an important role in the healing process. Tanya strives to create a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered. She believes therapy is a collaborative process that allows clients to explore their experiences, recognize their strengths, and develop strategies for meaningful growth and positive change. As a counselor, Tanya is honored to walk alongside her clients as they work toward the goals that are most important to them and pursue greater emotional, mental, and overall wellness.

I began my counseling career in the school setting, where I had the opportunity to work closely with adolescents, families, and school professionals and support students through a variety of personal, social, academic, and career-related concerns. I also served as a Supervisor of School Counseling and Social Work, an experience that allowed me to support and mentor other professionals while further developing my understanding of the many factors that contribute to emotional well-being. My experiences in counseling have provided a strong foundation for my current role as a therapist and continue to influence the way I connect with and support my clients.
Outside of my work as a therapist, I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, traveling, and expressing my creativity through interior design. I also enjoy participating in church activities and recently developed a mental health education and lay listening ministry that provides the community with information about mental health, works to reduce the stigma surrounding mental health concerns, and equips ministry team members with effective listening skills to support individuals experiencing grief, loss, and other life challenges.
